You’re Mind: Friend or Enemy!

What are you thinking?

Do you ever think about what you are thinking?

Why do you think what you think?

"Your life today is a result of your thinking yesterday. Your life tomorrow will be determined by what you think today." Some say the mind is a terrible thing to waste. But what we think is what we are, your mind controls what we say and do. As a man thinketh so he is. I know people who spend hours upon hours reading and never learn. They take in a lot of information that never ever changes the way that they think. Changing from negative to positive thinking isn't always easy, especially if you have a difficult time with change. For some, it's a life-long struggle. Do you know what most people's number one challenge is when it comes to making positive personal changes? It's their feelings. They want to change, but they don't know how to get past their emotions. But there is a way to do it. Take a look at the truth contained in the following syllogism:

Major Premise: I can control my thoughts.
Minor Premise: My feelings come from my thoughts.
Conclusion: I can control my feelings by controlling my thoughts.

If you are willing to change your thinking, you can change your feelings. If you change your feelings, you can change your actions. And changing your actions—based on good thinking—can change your life.

8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. 9The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you.

If you desire to change your situation whatever it is you must change your way of thinking. Notice these three principles The Apostle Paul shares in Philippians 4:8-9.

1. Purity- We must purify our minds of the negative and focus on what is true, good and right. Trash in trash out, it is just that simple. You reap what you sow.

2. Performance – Make a effort to live out positive thought and not negative feelings. Change our minds to reflect a positive lifestyle. The kind of life you live is the kind of life you live.

3. Praise - Seek satisfaction for the people places and things we have been blessed with. We often become driven by the things of the world and not what we have been given by God. Garner a relevant and constant relationship with God in all these things and you will see a difference.
